    The statue is located on 31 Bohaterów Warszawy Street, on the Szczecinek pedestrian zone, in front of the Aria Shopping Centre. There is a large free car park nearby.

     

Adam Giedrys was one of the greatest post-war inhabitants of Szczecinek. A tailor by profession, but he had a passion for astronomy and teaching. He was renown and respected and collaborated, among other things, with NASA. The statue of Adam Giedrys was unveiled in Szczecinek in October 2009. Dorota Dziekiewicz-Pilich, its author, immortalised Adam Giedrys in bronze while his sitting at a sewing machine, with a telescope, staring up at the sky.
