• Address: Tanowska 8, 72-010 Police

The municipal cemetery in Police covers a very large area along Tanowska Street, stretching from the railroad crossing in Police toward Trzeszczyn. It is surrounded on three sides by the municipal forests of the Wkrzańska Primeval Forest. It covers an area of approximately 10 hectares. It is the only active cemetery in Police, and for this very reason, it has recently been expanded. Although it has been in use since roughly the 1930s, it did not become Police’s main cemetery until the 1960s. Previously, the deceased were buried at the cemetery on Mazurska Street. On the grounds of the cemetery on Tanowska Street, just a few steps past the entrance gate, there is a large cross and a funeral chapel, which was built in the 1980s. There is also a columbarium here—a place where the ashes of the deceased can be interred. The cemetery is overgrown with trees and interesting vegetation. All information regarding the operation of municipal cemeteries in the Police Municipality can be found on the website of the Municipal and Housing Services Department in Police, under the “Cemetery” tab: www.zgkim.police.pl/html/cmentarz.htm. The following are available there: a price list for services, regulations, and a grave search tool.
