• Address: pl. Wolności 17, 78-200 Białogard

The townhouse at 17 Wolności Square is the most impressive townhouse in the old town of Białogard. It is a Neo-Mannerist building from the early 20th century, dating from around 1910, and is listed on the register of historic monuments. The building is constructed on a plan consisting of two rectangles joined at a right angle, with a cut corner where the main entrance is located. The front facade is richly decorated with pilasters, entablatures, corbels, blind balustrades, volutes, and sequins. Above the main entrance to the building is a cartouche bearing the coat of arms of Białogard. It is worth noting the two beautiful sculptures located in the niches between the first-floor windows on the front facade. Rumor has it that these sculptures were created by Boguslav Utech, the grandfather of the most famous pre-war local artist—Joachim Utech. The building has had a varied history; it has had many tenants. For many years, it housed a PKO BP bank, and today it serves as the seat of the Białogard County authorities. Visitors can also tour the interior of the building. Next to the side entrance to the county office, there is a set of stairs adapted for people with disabilities.
