The cemetery in Stolcu is located next to the Church of St. Maximilian Maria Kolbe. Along with the palace and park complex, it is one of the most interesting places in the village. The 18th-century cemetery, situated on the north side of the church, has an irregular layout and is enclosed by a stone wall with an entrance gate that has recently been renovated. The crest of the von Ramin family’s coat of arms is depicted in the center of the gate’s panel. Within the cemetery grounds, there are cast-iron crosses, visible traces of collapsed graves, and other fragments of tombstones. The most striking monument here is the beautiful historic memorial to Jurgen Berndt von Ramin, one of the owners of the estate in Stolic, who died tragically in 1792. The obelisk is situated at the highest point of the hill and serves as the focal point of the cemetery. The brick monument, shaped like an obelisk, is clad with sandstone slabs at its base. It was commissioned by the deceased’s wife, Countess Wilhelmina Ramin, née Hacke. The richly decorated monument features, at the top of its front face, a medallion depicting a man’s head in profile, surrounded by a laurel wreath. Below is an inscription in German expressing the grief of his loved ones over the loss of a father and husband. Two figures are also depicted here: on the left, an angel covering its tear-stained face, and on the right, a putto. The obelisk is clearly visible; the overgrown vegetation around it has been removed, though the entire cemetery still requires maintenance. Beautiful old trees entwined with ivy grow here, and hidden somewhere deep within them lie the graves.
