The municipal harbor in Ueckermünde is the largest port of the Small Lagoon part of the Szczecin Lagoon, located at the Uecker river before the bascule bridge and the forking of the Köhn Canal.
You are in the middle of the historic old town. Bakeries, the main shopping streets, the town’s cultural offerings and the many restaurants with outdoor seating – everything is only a few steps from the town harbour.
There are toilets, showers and laundry facilities directly at the harbour. Just ask the harbour master. A WiFi connection is also available. The harbour master endeavours to make your stay in the town harbour of the seaside resort of Ueckermünde as pleasant as possible.
And if you don’t arrive by ship, the town harbour is still a great place for a leisurely stroll. There are convenient and wheelchair accessible promenades on both sides of the Uecker river that are perfect for relaxing. There is plenty of seating in the harbour or on the quay wall to witness the bridge being drawn up (which happens several times a day) or simply to watch the goings-on in the harbour. The Brücken café and the terraces of the “Backbord” and “Roter Butt” are a great place to sit, and they all offer table service. The castle, the town’s landmark, is within eyeshot; today it accommodates the lagoon museum. The old half-timbered houses and warehouses and the Church of St. Mary in the old town are also worth seeing. The zoo on the southwestern edge of the town is a great excursion destination. Water sports fans will love the annual “Haff-Sail” event (end of May/beginning of June). www.ueckermuende.de; www.urlaub-amstettiner-haff.de
