The water tower was built in 1897 as an elevated tank and was used to supply the population with water. In 1978, it was converted into an astronomy station. In addition to a seminar room and an observation platform, a Zeiss planetarium with observatory was also built in 1981. Demonstrations for the public usually take place once a month. Schools, clubs, companies and private groups can make their own appointments on request. In addition to the explanation of current constellations, selected objects can be observed with the refractor in clear weather.
