Viewpoint Pirate Gorge The Pirate's Gorge is an ancient break in the riverbank. According to legend, Klaus Störtebeker, a feared pirate in the 14th century, sought refuge here and buried treasure. In the Pirate's Gorge, a staircase leads from the high shore path to the beach.
