The Müritzeum is a multimedia nature experience centre. It presents the holiday region around the Müritz in a fascinating, entertaining and informative way for young and old visitors. The Müritzeum sees itself as a window into the Müritz National Park. The highlight of the aquarium landscape is the two-storey deep basin with a swarm of vendace. The exhibitions with their interactive theme rooms and the natural history exhibits are scientifically supervised and are based on the unique and over 150-year-old natural history collections of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The permanent exhibition "Nature in the Collection Cabinet" provides information about the collection founded in 1866 by Baron Hermann von Maltzan.
The museum garden around the idyllic Herrensee invites you to take a walk. It attracts the little guests with its adventure playground. The Müritzeum is a family-friendly and barrier-free house.
