Palace Museum in Trzebiatow

The Ducal Palace, located in the southeastern part of the Old Town on a high escarpment, in the bend of the former mill canal, is a place with more than eight hundred years of history. Over the centuries it has served a variety of roles - a princely house, a Norbertine convent, a Gothic-Renaissance seat of the domain of the Pomeranian dukes and the seat of the duke's widows, a Baroque and classicist residence during the rule of Brandenburg and Prussia, or the seat of numerous offices and institutions. Equally colorful is the gallery of characters who lived here - nuns, princely families, a general, a mayor... Today the Palace is the seat of the Trzebiatowski Cultural Center, at which the Palace Museum, which has been developed for nearly twenty years, operates.
