LOVE, SHMARADG AND THE CROCODIL (Romancing the Stone, USA/Mexico 1984, 105')

DIRECTOR: Robert Zemeckis
STARRING: Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, Danny DeVito

This year marks exactly 40 years since the release of one of the coolest adventure films in cinema history. To director Robert Zemeckis, the film paved the way to big Hollywood, where he was given the chance to create later "Forrest Gump" among others, and made big stars out of Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner. The success of the film surprised almost everyone, and the chemistry between the two protagonists delights to this day and is set as a model in broad adventure cinema.
The main character of the film is Joan Wilder, an author of adventure novels. One day she receives a package that contains a map leading to a treasure.
The writer is called by gangsters who have kidnapped her sister in Colombia and want to exchange her for the map. The writer sets off for South America.
She gets into trouble, from which she is pulled out by the circumnavigator Jack T. Colton. From now on, together they search for the treasure and the sister.

The film screening is preceded by a lecture, prepared and delivered by Christopher Spro.

The organizer reserves the right to change the program.
