Arnold Wolinsky's exhibition "Women"

We live in a time when everyone takes pictures of themselves with their phones, and ubiquitous cameras take thousands of them for us. The public image can be created, created and constantly changed. Among the thousands of snapshots, hundreds of banal mementos of our reality, records of states of consciousness and portraits of JA real or artificial, the boundaries of truth and falsity about us are blurring. Today, our image may be created not in our likeness, but to our need or the need of others. So we create places, situations, backgrounds, our image.
We can also cede our creation to artificial intelligence.
Today, in this exhibition, we have the opportunity to face our own image of the female figure, whether we take the literal image or imagine it for ourselves, such as in comic book style....
Arnold Wolinski usually chooses portraits of young women, though not always from social networks, and transforms them into images by applying them to canvas or a sheet of paper, subjecting them to creative interpretation. These portraits, or perhaps more like posters, give them another life, a new version, not their first or last interpretation. The exhibit is dominated by colorful interpretations of "strong" women, often similar precisely in line to "cartoon" ones.
This is how the creation of models in social media makes them heroines - not only of these media, but also of creative activities, making them muses - heroines of traditional paintings maintained in pop-art style, closest to the artist's creative expression. Most of the works are made in mixed techniques: acrylic, ink, spray paint or crayons and markers, and some of them are tablet creations. Wolinski's interpretations seem to indicate that this is just the beginning of an endless process of creating some kind of "longer" story, perhaps in a comic book narrative.
