Workshop meeting with Maria Witek and Waldemar Witek on the history, culture and traditions of Western Pomerania, during which participants will be able to discover the richness of cultural heritage, while developing skills for its protection and promotion.

The workshop will cover topics related to the analysis of archival documents to study local heritage and understand the specificity of tangible and intangible traditions in West Pomerania. Participants will also learn about techniques for documenting tangible and intangible heritage. It will also be an introduction to developing projects to better understand and appreciate regional heritage, such as exhibitions, events and community activities. The workshop will not only broaden the participants' knowledge, but will also inspire them to take action to protect and promote the cultural heritage of Western Pomerania, encouraging conscious participation in the process of building regional identity.

Hosts
Maria Witek - ethnographer, cultural manager, director of the West Pomeranian Monuments Documentation Office, author of numerous scientific publications, conservation studies, documentation and expertise in the field of cultural heritage and monument protection in Pomerania.

Waldemar Witek - ethnographer, chief specialist at the National Heritage Institute, head of the NID Field Studio in Szczecin. Author of numerous scientific publications in the field of conservation, documentation and protection of monuments in Western Pomerania.

The event is part of a series of workshops aimed at cultural animators, instructors in community centers, caretakers of folk ensembles, members of non-governmental organizations and rural housewives' circles from Western Pomerania. The workshops are aimed at taming local cultural heritage, providing tools and materials needed to work with local communities.

The workshops are free of charge. Applications will be accepted from July 1 to August 1 at: w.wiezowska@filharmonia.szczecin.pl. Number of places limited.
