National Read Aloud Day

September 29 is the Day of Reading Out Loud celebrated throughout the country and in our Library. The purpose of the action is to promote reading, sensitizing people to the beauty of the read word. It is a holiday whose most important beneficiaries are children. Reading aloud to them stimulates their development, enriches their vocabulary and stimulates their imagination. National Read Aloud Day was established at the initiative of the Polish Book Chamber in 2001. The date of September 29 refers to the birthday of Janina Porazinska, author of books for children and young people.
