Concert visit to Szczecin - Music of the New Synagogue

We invite you to a special concert in Szczecin. The concert is part of the 7th edition of the International Days of Jewish Music in Szczecin. The program refers to the legacy of the New Synagogue in Szczecin, which was located between 1875-1938 in the street Grüne Schanze - today ul. Dworcowa. The concert will take place in the Holy Trinity Church in Szczecin at 8 Energeników Street.

The concert program will include pieces that were performed in the New Synagogue in Szczecin or refer in style and historical period to music that could have been performed there. The most important element of the program will be the works of Louis Lewandowski, composer and music director of the Berlin synagogues, who lived in the years 1821 - 1894, visited Szczecin several times and wrote some of the works specially commissioned by the local Jewish community.

The concert is organized in cooperation between the SPOT.ON ART Foundation from Szczecin and Kulturhaus Kino Brüssow and the Pro Europa Viadrina Association from Witnica. The trip to Szczecin is also being offered as part of the cultural network together with the KVHS Uckermark. The excursion is free of charge, please bring money for drinks and food on the way: Euro, zloty or bank card.

The return journey depends on the duration of the concert. Arrival and departure from Brüssow are by bus. There are no costs for the journey and the concert.
