The players of the Stoislaw Koszalin mills have already had their first sparring matches and are preparing for the next ones. In two days they will face as many as four control matches during the Handball Tournament, of which they will be the hosts. For fans, it will be the first chance to meet the team before the upcoming ORLEN Superleague season. Participation in the event, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, August 9-10, has been announced by the teams EKS start Elbląg and HC Rivne from Ukraine.
The tournament was held under the Honorary Patronage of Tomasz Sobieraj- Mayor of Koszalin and Jakub Kowalik- Deputy Marshall of Zachodniopomorskie Voivodeship.
At the end of last week, the Koszalin players played a two-match against KPR Gmina Kobierzyce, the current national vice-champions. The charges of coach Krzysztof Przybylski lost 25:32 and 26:28, but the rival was demanding, and the results, at this stage of preparation, were not the most important. - In the first game we made too many own mistakes, in the second we played nice. We led for a long time by one goal or the score oscillated around a draw. In these meetings we lacked a bit of a left wing, because Jagoda Lasek and Turkish Elif Sili Aydin could not play with us yet. We practiced some variants both in defense and attack. This is the most important thing. Of course we would like to win, but at this point the result was not the most important thing, but building a team that needs chemistry and familiarity," noted coach Krzysztof Przybylski.
Now the Koszalin players are preparing to compete against more teams. On Friday and Saturday they will play against the team of EKS Start Elbląg and HC Rivne- a team that jumped from the central league to the same competition level in which Galichanka Lviv plays. Previously, the AWS Energa Szczypiorno Kalisz team had also confirmed its participation in the event, but late last week the Kalisz club canceled its arrival in Koszalin. The games, as during the league season, will last 60 minutes, but the breaks between the first and second halves will be shorter - 5 minutes.
