During the 13th edition of the National Reading, the Castle invites you to a lecture on the works of Juliusz Słowacki and the historical context of "Kordian", which will be delivered by Dr. Jędrzej Wijas (Institute of Literature and New Media, University of Szczecin).
The lecture will be followed by the reading of excerpts from "Kordian" by outstanding actors of the Contemporary Theater in Szczecin - Barbara Biel and Michał Lewandowski.
The National Reading is an initiative to promote reading and bring the greatest works of Polish literature closer to the general public. This year's reading selection is a drama that not only represents one of the pillars of Polish romantic literature, but also touches on topics important to us, such as the struggle for freedom and patriotism.
Barbara Biel - a graduate of the State Higher School of Theater in Krakow. Since the 2009/2010 artistic season, she has been an actress at the Contemporary Theater in Szczecin, where she first appeared in the diploma performance of the fourth year of the acting faculty of the State Higher Theater School in Krakow, "Sunken Cathedral", directed by Anna Augustynowicz.
Michal Lewandowski - graduate of the acting department of the National Film, Television and Theater School in Lodz. He made his debut at the Contemporary Theater in Szczecin in the play "Ill of Delusion" by Molière, directed by Tomasz Obara.
