The Koszalin Museum invites you to the largest presentation of Zdzislaw Pacholski's work to date. The monographic exhibition entitled. "Zdzislaw Pacholski. Meanders of Seeing" includes an extensive selection of works from 1966-2021, reflecting the content and formal richness of contemporary photography.

The exhibition has an issue-based character, departing from the traditional chronological order of the presentation of works. Its aim is to show the non-obviousness of the photographic medium in all the diversity of its manifestations.

The exhibition features works referring to many different photographic genres and conventions. Among other things, one can see documentary photographs, experimental works produced using the luxography technique, subjective and creative photography, multiplications, pastiche, digitally processed images. They address the issues of truth in photography and its imitative abilities, the limits of visibility, the ambiguity of the reportage image, landscape expression, symbolic staging, community in times of crisis, identity of place, humor, the absurdity of everyday life in a communist state, the relationship between image and text.

The concept of the exhibition is built on the notion of seeing, which, unlike just looking, requires deeper involvement and reflection. The exhibition encourages visitors to follow the intricate, meandering paths of seeing on their own and to search for hidden meanings in images that do not provide a single, clear path to understanding them.

The exhibition will be on view from 15.09.-17.11.2024 at the Koszalin Museum on Mlynska Street.
