The "Nutcracker" and a "Tale in Music" conjure up the pre-Christmas season

Nostalgia, joy and amazement, a mixture of childlike magic and festive celebration is what the young musicians of the Neue Philharmonie MV promise their visitors at Stadt.Land.Klassik! in the Historisches U on November 15, 2024.

The romantic fairy tale "The Nutcracker" by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is set on a magical Christmas night. Young Clara receives a wondrous nutcracker from her godfather Drosselmeyer, which comes to life during the night. Together they fight the fearsome Mouse King and his army before traveling to a fantastic realm full of living sweets and enchanting dances. Clara and her Nutcracker take the audience on an adventure full of wonder and friendship.

The music creates a magical atmosphere in which anything seems possible through the use of celesta, harp and glockenspiel, which emphasize the light and sparkling elements. The contrasts between festive, dance-like pieces and delicate, dreamy passages reflect childlike innocence and fantasy and evoke childhood memories of the Christmas season.

Another experience awaits visitors to the Stadt.Land.Klassik! program with the 1st Symphony by Lutz Schumacher. The head of the Nordkurier newspaper, who has also made a name for himself as a bestselling author and regularly hosts the concerts, expresses his love of classical orchestral music in his first work. He has called the piece "A Narrative in Music".

The tour of the finest classical concerts where you are at home takes the orchestra to Waren an der Müritz (November 12), Anklam (November 13), Neubrandenburg (November 14) - and to Pasewalk on November 15. The evening concert in the Historisches U begins at 7 pm.
