Exhibition "Universes" by Katarzyna Marciniak

We would like to invite you to the opening of the exhibition "Universes" by Katarzyna Marciniak on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 5 pm.The exhibition will be presented in the room under the Pyramid until the end of December.
Universes" is the title of a retrospective exhibition showing the work of Katarzyna Marciniak over the past years. The exhibition consists of almost 100 silk fabrics "painted" only with nature and full of color paintings that are abstract landscapes. Both of these spaces are the artist's worlds and make up her artistic universe. Although it seems as if the two worlds are completely different, this is only an apparent impression. Both invite a meditative respite from the overstimulated everyday world. Both are bound together by nature in a very broad sense, as an inspiration, a subject, a co-creator, and the fine silk that is the carrier of the artist's work.
The silk fabrics that Katarzyna Marciniak creates are the result of many years of fascination and experience with the process of using plants to paint fabrics. The theme of nature has always been close to the artist. The ecoprint technique she uses has allowed her to seek space for an individual form of expression, that is, "painting with nature", and to discover its trace. Plants have replaced the brush and ink.
