Impatiens - an original performance by Bibianna Chimiak

The impatiens of the title are plants whose name in many languages is associated with impatience or intolerance of touch (e.g., the species Impatiens noli-tangere from the Latin noli me tangere - "don't touch me"). The stories evoked in the play are characterized by a similar chronic hypersensitivity accumulated just under the skin - it only takes one impulse to reach the breaking point. Bibianna Chimiak's original monodrama is about our mental condition and the limits of its endurance, about measuring ourselves against the extremes posed by reality. It is built on subtleties, small gestures, a dark, but also full of tenderness atmosphere, with a considerable dose of black humor, a bit of thrill, almost without words, for that with a lot of theatrical magic.
The play was nominated for the "Amber Ring" 2023, in the categories of best performance of the season and best acting. In Aram Stern's Subjective Theater Alphabet 2023 ("Theater for All"), the play received two awards: in the MONODRAM category for Bibianna Chimiak and in the SCENOGRAPHY category for Arek Piętak and Maciej Osmycki.
