The Observation Tower in Wolin

Standing 32 meters tall, it is an excellent vantage point for landscape photography enthusiasts.

The view stretches across the Szczecin Lagoon, the Dziwna Strait delta, and the vast natural areas surrounding Wolin.

The tower has a maritime theme, reflecting the town’s history.

Admission to the observation tower is free, and it is open year-round. From October through April: daily from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; from May through September until 8:00 p.m. Access to the observation tower may be restricted or completely closed in the event of rain, strong winds, icy conditions, snowstorms, limited visibility, or other adverse weather conditions.

The facility is accessible to people with disabilities.

Instead of stairs, visitors can ascend via a ramp with handrails. This allows people with disabilities, seniors, and parents with children in strollers to reach thetop.

Wolin City Park is a green space covering approximately 10 hectares, located along a trail frequently used by residents and tourists.

Between the 32-meter-tall wooden tower and Hangmen’s Hill lies Malta Glade. Its location among the trees, convenient proximity to nearby attractions, and the presence of benches, shelters, and other amenities ensure a pleasant rest regardless of the weather.

On the eastern edge of the park is an amphitheater. This is a special feature of the park, as it hosts cultural events such as harvest festivals, the Harvest Celebration, outdoor film screenings, and many others. Surrounding the stage is a large clearing with well-maintained grass and a few trees, which is an ideal spot for picnics or exhibitions.
An interesting landmark in the park is the statue of Trzygłów (Trygław)—a deity of the Elbe Slavs and Pomeranians. He was depicted as a three-headed figure riding a black horse. His attribute was the sacred oak. According to historians, he emerged after the unification of three tribes through the merging of three equivalent deities in whom they believed.
Nearby are Hangmen’s Hill and a burial mound cemetery. These sites are closely tied to the history of the region and are very popular among tourists. The area is part of an archaeological reserve located on Gołogóra Hill. It is the oldest early-medieval cemetery in Pomerania. Thirty-four graves have survived to this day.
The city park in Wolin is a special place. It’s worth visiting while exploring Hangman’s Hill or on your way to the city beach. Attending city events held at the local amphitheater is an excellent opportunity to see the park.
