The Battle of Bentonville

Once a year, on the last weekend of July, the village of Giżyn (Myślibórz County) hosts a reenactment of one of the battles of the American Civil War, which took place on July 24-27, 2025. Giżyn is the burial place of Heros von Borcke, a cavalry officer who served in the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia during the American Civil War. The annual outdoor spectacle is always preceded by a commemoration of Heros von Borcke. We invite all history enthusiasts to participate in this unique event, which will begin on July 24, with the main celebrations and reenactment of the battle taking place on July 26, 2025.
