Join us for a meeting with Kinga Konieczny and Eryk Krasucki, authors of the book Andrzej Milczanowski (1939–2024). An (Auto)Biographical Collage (Szczecin, KAdruk 2025). About the book: Historians who write biographies usually keep their emotions in check. They try to maintain distance and objectivity, and it is not appropriate for them to write about certain things in serious academic treatises. Meanwhile, people are largely defined by seemingly unimportant everyday situations, relationships with other people, and traits and characteristics that can only be grasped through personal contact. Fortunately, the witnesses to history on whose voices the bulk of this volume is based are not subject to the same restrictions as historians. They include Andrzej Milczanowski's acquaintances, friends, family members, and Milczanowski himself. And it is good that this is the case. Thanks to this, the book that the reader holds in their hands presents a more realistic, complex, and colorful picture of its protagonist. It is still the written word, which finds it difficult to convey that "something" that Milczanowski undoubtedly had in him. That "something" that made it impossible to pass him by indifferently. Readers will certainly not remain indifferent after reading this book. Kinga Konieczny – reporter, author, Szczecin native. A sociologist and journalist by education.
