The “AKWENADA” Song Festival Under Sail – a grand celebration of maritime tradition in Nowe Warpno
On July 4, 2026, Nowe Warpno will become the musical and cultural heart of Western Pomerania.
We invite you to the first edition of the “AKWENADA” Festival—a free event that combines respect for maritime heritage, a passion for literature, and creative education for the whole family.
The “AKWENADA” Festival is an initiative aimed at building a modern maritime identity for the region and promoting Nowe Warpno as the pearl of the Szczecin Lagoon. The event is intended for both seasoned sailors and anyone who enjoys spending time by the water accompanied by good music and fascinating stories.
Grand Opening and Musical Highlights
We will kick off the festival with a significant regional highlight—at 1:00 PM, a ceremony commemorating Aleksander Doba will take place. A commemorative plaque dedicated to the legendary traveler will be unveiled on Sailors’ Avenue.
After the official part, the festival stage will belong to the masters of shanties and folk music.
The concert program will feature:
• EKT Gdynia
• Stary Szmugler
• DAIR
• Women’s Choir of the Maritime University of Szczecin
• W Korcu Maku (Monika Frankowicz and Marian Mazurek)
The day will culminate with a bonfire gathering at the marina under the slogan “Shanties at Sunset,” during which artists and the audience will sing classics of the genre together.
Literary Harbor and Education Zone
Akwenada is also a place for seekers of regional secrets. The “Literary Harbor” will host meetings with prominent authors who draw inspiration from Western Pomerania in their work: Barbara Stenka, Monika Wilczyńska, and Marek Stelar.
For the youngest participants, a rich Educational Maritime Zone has been prepared, offering workshops and activities (including learning sailing knots, building boats and instruments, painting workshops, painting pebbles, making pins, pirate tattoos, and LEGO robotics). Participants will also be able to use the “Festival Maritime Post Office” and send a commemorative postcard with a unique stamp.
