Two industrialists, one mansion
Friedrich Correns made his money as commercial director of Accumulatorenfabrik AG. With its VARTA batteries, the company initiated the first boom in electromobility at the beginning of the 20th century. Thanks to good connections to the imperial court, Correns had the best building materials for his prestigious mansion at his disposal despite the First World War.
In 1925, Werner Friedrich von Siemens purchased the property. Large parts of the interior furnishings have been preserved in their original condition.
Since 2012, two private universities have shared the premises.
