In Dziwnów, there is a stately villa featuring a seaside architectural style. It is a building with a fragmented form and rich architectural detail. The villa was built in the early 20th century.
The town of Dziwnów once consisted of three separate fishing settlements: Dolny, Górny, and Dziwna, which were merged into Dziwnów in 1926. The villa, located at 5 Parkowa Street, was situated within the territory of Dziwnów Dolny. Neither the villa’s first owner nor its architect is known. The date of construction was determined based on the architectural style of the building.
The building is characterized by a fragmented, asymmetrical floor plan typical of villa architecture. It is a two-story building with a basement and a usable attic. The main body of the building is four-sided with false projections. Due to the building’s fragmented form, it is covered by several roofs, creating an interesting composition, complemented by openwork wood carvings with a floral motif that adorn the roof’s finish. The roof is covered with ceramic tiles. A small wing is located at the western corner of the main body. Entrances to the building lead through a porch situated on the southwest wall of the main body and a veranda located on the southeast wall. Balconies are situated on the front facade. The villa’s façade is designed in a style characteristic of early 20th-century detached villas. The northeast wall is completely windowless, a feature intended to ensure peace and comfort for summer residents. Within the knee wall, the decoratively profiled ends of the ceiling beams and the wooden rafter structure are visible. The entire structure is adorned with rich wood carvings. The building features double, cross-barred windows divided by a cross; in the attic, there are box-type, multi-sash windows. The windows are set in decorative plaster frames featuring geometric and checkerboard motifs. The building is preserved in good condition.
Currently, the building serves as a residence and is home to several families. The property is accessible from the outside.
