This unassuming Dutch-style windmill, built in the 19th century, now stands in ruins. In its heyday, it was part of a thriving milling complex that was one of the few facilities in Europe unaffected by the vagaries of the weather, water levels, or electricity supply. The mill in Worów was capable of producing flour using wind, water, electric, and steam power. The Dutch-style windmill in Worów exemplifies the pinnacle of windmill evolution. Mounted on a massive stone-and-brick body, the rotating roof section rested on bearings and featured a relatively rare two-bladed propeller. Unfortunately, only the body of the structure has survived to the present day. The damaged mechanism can be seen inside the windmill. The ruin is privately owned. The owner is attempting to restore it.
