The residential and workshop building in Czaplinek was built in 1841. The date of construction is confirmed by a mark imprinted on one of the sections of the clay brick wall. It is a two-story half-timbered building. The building’s foundation is L-shaped. It is covered by a gable roof with ceramic tiles. The exterior walls are constructed using the so-called Prussian masonry technique, while the interior walls are half-timbered with clay infill. The building had not been renovated until 2004. It currently houses the headquarters of the ToTu Association—the Academy of Creative Skills in Czaplinek, thanks to which the building was restored and opened to visitors.
A Miniature Park has been created within the historic building, where visitors can see the most interesting half-timbered structures from the region. In addition, various workshops on traditional construction techniques are organized there.
