The boulder commemorates the last charge by the last lancers of the Republic of the 1st Warsaw Independent Cavalry Brigade. The event took place on March 1, 1945. The town was overrun by the Germans. Polish infantrymen and Polish tanks unsuccessfully tried to capture it. Only the appearance of a mounted charge of lancers, caused the enemy to flee. Probably the Germans were too surprised by such a sight and therefore abandoned the fight. After all, it should be remembered that during World War II aircraft, tanks and rockets were used, not horses. The charge of the lancers led to the recapture of the village. A plaque on a boulder commemorates the event.
