The current Wedding Palace is a burgher’s house erected in the 16th century with the use of elements from the 15th-century. This late Gothic building is covered with a three-hipped roof. The lanceted blind windows from the former building catch the eye of tourists. The building burnt down in the fire of 1718 and after the reconstruction it served its original function until 1945. In the years 1962-1972, the building was refurbished and its interior was adapted for the needs of the District Museum, which was eventually not opened there. In 1982, the house became the seat of the Register Office – the Wedding Palace.
