• Address: Nehringa, Szczecin

Szczecin used to be much smaller than it is today; it was surrounded by numerous villages that, over time, were incorporated into the city limits. One of them was Stolzenhagen, now known as Stołczyn. Every village had to have a burial ground for its residents, and this one was no exception. Originally, the cemetery was located next to the church, but in the second half of the 19th century, due to overcrowding, it was moved to a site on Nerhinga Street. In the northern part stood a cemetery chapel, reached by a main avenue lined with linden trees. Family tombs were situated along this avenue. Toward the end of the 20th century, the cemetery attracted the attention of Stołczyn’s local council members. The area was cleared, and paths, lawns, and benches were added. German gravestones with legible inscriptions were left in place. Today, the site of the former cemetery is a park that also serves as a lapidarium.
