The Circle of History

The History Circle in Ostrowiec is a unique space that serves both as a record of the town’s history and as a gathering place for residents. Fourteen erratic boulders found in the surrounding area have been placed in the village’s central square—perhaps as a reference to the megalithic structures discovered in Western Pomerania. The entire area has been adorned with new plantings—trees and shrubs sourced from a local ornamental shrub nursery. The circle was created as part of the larger “Heart of the Village” project in 2008. At the same time, residents collected exhibits for the local museum, named seven streets in their village, and marked out a hiking trail.
