The reliefs from 1938 were created by Kurt Schwerdtfeger. They adorn the column of the Business Center (formerly a branch of the Pomeranian Bank). The reliefs depict people in various professions, including bricklayers, fishermen, farmers during the harvest, and industrial workers. At the very bottom of the bas-relief depicting the bricklayers is Kurt Schwerdtfeger’s signature. The work fit perfectly into the artistic movement of the Third Reich, whose goal was to proclaim Germany’s power through the use of the motif of the muscular worker.
