The building at 13 Wojska Polskiego Street

It is one of the oldest buildings located near the market square. The house has one story and an attic, and is topped with a gable roof. It was built in the early 19th century of wood and brick. The facade has no additional ornamentation (unlike other townhouses around the market square), but it is one of the better-preserved examples of the half-timbered construction characteristic of Western Pomerania (known as “Prussian wall”). Few similar buildings have survived in Maszewo itself; there is one more, a newer one, on the opposite side of the market square. Since the postwar period, the building has served as a residence, just as it did before the war. It is privately owned and can therefore only be viewed from the outside. It underwent a thorough renovation in the early 21st century, thanks to which it remains in very good condition today.
