Apart from the cathedral, the complex includes a number of historic buildings sprawled over nearly 3 hectares. The first places of worship here date back to the 12th century.

The Cathedral Complex in Kamień Pomorski was declared a historical monument in 2005. It constitutes a separate whole in the city layout, originally surrounded by a defensive wall. The cathedral complex consists of several historic buildings: the cathedral, the courtyard, the bishop's palace, the rectory, the canon, the dean's curia, the sacristan's house, the school, wall paintings in the sacred treasury and the organ. In the 12th century, Kamień Pomorski was a dynamically developing center, which resulted in the transfer of the seat of the Pomeranian bishopric, covering almost half of the Baltic coast. The construction of the first monumental building in the eastern part of the Pomeranian Duchy lasted from the end of the 12th to the mid-14th century. In the years 1544-1572, as a result of reformation activities, the cathedral settlement became the seat of Lutheran bishops.

The cathedral complex covers an area of 2.80 ha, in its central part there is a cathedral in the Romanesque-Gothic style, built of brick and granite stones in the form of a three-nave basilica. The equipment of the cathedral was once famous for its wealth, valuable works of art were stored in the cathedral treasury, unfortunately, after 1945 the collection was lost without a trace.. Currently, inside the cathedral, we can see a medieval late Gothic altar, two wooden crucifixes, a sculpture depicting John the Evangelist, two stone baptismal fonts and 12 tombstones of bishops and church dignitaries, as well as modern elements from the Lutheran period of the temple presenting Baroque elements.

Out of the nine preserved buildings that are part of the cathedral settlement, six belong to the church and three are municipal property. The oldest in the settlement is the bishop's palace from the second half of the 15th century. The next three buildings come from the 18th century, they are the rectory, the canon and the dean's house, which present forms typical of manor houses in Pomerania, while in the dean's house some gothic elements have survived. The house of the institute for maidens, the sacristan's house and the residential house were built at the same time, but were thoroughly rebuilt in the 19th and 20th centuries. The last two facilities, the school and the house of the parish priests were built in the first half of the 20th century. An additional element of the historic complex is the baroque gate which is a remnant from the end of the 17th century.

It is worth mentioning the cloister, which is the only cloister in Poland. The baroque organ in the Kamień cathedral is also noteworthy, it is 13 m wide, 9 m high, 3,300 pipes and can achieve 47 votes. The organ is one of the most famous Baroque works of art, thanks to the International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music, which has been organized for over half a century. The cathedral, the patio, the treasury and organ concerts are open to the public.
