In the open-air museum located on Ostrów Island you can see a reconstructed village from the early Middle Ages.

The Slavs and Vikings Center is on the Ostrów Island opposite the town of Wolin. Access to the Center of Slavs and Vikings leads from Wolin along Zamkowa Street or national road No. 3 from Szczecin, turning into provincial road No. 111. There is also the possibility of accessing provincial road No. 111, leaving national road No. 3 on the Goleniów bypass. In Recław, follow road signs.

In the area of the Center of Slavs and Vikings, an open-air museum was created, where you can see the reconstruction of a dozen residential and craft buildings from the early Middle Ages - from the 9th to the 11th century. Visitors can see replicas of furniture, tools, and everyday objects. You can also take part in workshops of clay modeling, felt production, writing with goose feathers, early medieval drill, archery, and try a Viking snack. All the attractions are aimed at getting to know, in a way other than in a museum, how people lived 1000 years ago.

Every year at the turn of July and August, the Slavs and Vikings Festival is held here. At that time, crowds of warriors gather here for one of the largest and most international early medieval events in the world. Participants present old crafts, historical music, staging of historical events, regattas, and cruises with replicas of historical boats. There are also numerous games and activities as well as historical lectures.

The open-air museum also hosts other events: Archeological Picnic, Young Birch Day, Midsummer Night, Honey Harvesting, Experimental Archeology Workshops, Slavic Harvest Festival, September Workshops, Dziady Event.

Invitations to events are addressed to individual tourists, groups and schools for an interesting educational program and a unique encounter with history.
