The bridges consist of a pedestrian and bicycle crossing and a lookout point. The entire structure is approximately 700 meters long. This site is a fascinating historical landmark and now also a major tourist attraction in the region, connecting Poland and Germany. The structure offers a magnificent vantage point overlooking the Odra River floodplains and marks the start of the Western Lake District Bicycle Route. Originally built in the 19th century as a railway bridge, it was blown up during World War II. The bridge was later rebuilt but remained out of service for decades. In 2021, reconstruction of the section on the Polish side was completed. On June 25, 2022, the German section of the bridge was opened. Thus, it is now possible to cross the Oder River and the border by bicycle. A pedestrian and bicycle path, a rest area for tourists, and a covered observation deck have been built on the bridge, all set against the picturesque backdrop of Western Pomerania’s natural landscape. The bridge in Siekierki is located within a landscape park.
