The educational display “Old Structures—New Dreams” in Słowina is a faithful reconstruction of a section of a half-timbered wall typical of traditional half-timbered architecture. The entire village was once made up of this type of dwelling. The purpose of this display is to showcase local building traditions and the proper historical reconstruction of historic structures, while also encouraging residents and investors to use this traditional method of constructing buildings or to modernize existing ones. A plaque has been placed next to the wall, providing a detailed description of Słowino’s half-timbered architecture and the method used to construct such dwellings. This structure was built in 2006 as a result of conservation and construction workshops organized by the Office for the Documentation of Historic Monuments in Szczecin in cooperation with the Darłowo Municipality and the Elementary School in Słowino. Workshop participants jointly erected this half-timbered wall under the supervision of carpenters, following the traditional methods used to build such structures.
