It is Germany’s northeasternmost port, which also serves as a border port with neighboring Poland. The left side of the port is used by a fishing cooperative, which also operates a fish market there.

Altwarp is a picturesque former fishing village situated on the Szczecin Lagoon, between the lagoon’s waters and Lake Warper See. It is home to Germany’s easternmost port, from which you can admire views of the Polish town of Nowe Warpno and even take a sightseeing boat there.

The town is surrounded by vast pine, oak, and alder forests, heathlands, and distinctive inland dunes, creating one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Szczecin Lagoon region. Altwarp’s charm is enhanced by traditional fishermen’s houses and a historic Dutch windmill, which remained in operation until the mid-20th century.

It is the perfect place for those seeking peace and quiet, closeness to nature, and a seaside atmosphere. During your stay, be sure to try the fresh fish served at local restaurants and relax on the secluded beach, enjoying the tranquility and unique atmosphere of this exceptional corner of the borderland.
