This nature park is located in the northeast of the country, adjacent to the Republic of Poland. He is characterised by the natural unspoiled sections of the Haff coast and Haff meadows, vast forest complexes of the Ueckermünder Heide, the Uecker-Randow lowlands and the Brohmer mountains. The visitor’s information centre as a central contact for guests is located at the train station in Eggesin.
The idea of the Park emerged in autumn 2001 in the district Uecker-Randow because of dedicated employees and representatives of local communities. In the end of 2004 the nature park “Am Stettiner Haff” was established. Six people are involved in the nature park. Mr. Elberskirch as director and Mr. Dinse as deputy mainly working in the office as well as four ranger (Mrs. Kroschwald, Mr. Henke, Mr. Fleck and Mr. Schuldt), primarily working in the nature park region. All employees are working in the field of nature conversation, nature-compatible tourism and public relations as well as regional development and environmental education.
The park has its headquarter at the train station in Eggesin since August 2012. There is also a modern visitor information centre with a small coffee area. Directed by the city Eggesin and by means of ELER (LEADER), as well as urban development funds two historic station buildings were restored and connected to a functional new building. Here visitors can get an overview of the nature park with its peculiarities by means of a modern interactive exhibition and then, equipped with information material, explore the nature park region. Nature lovers and stressed-out city dwellers even find long-desired quiet in the high season . Rewarding excursion destinations are the "Ukranenland" in Torgelow with reconstructed houses and ships from the time of Slavic, as well as the Botanical Garden in Christiansberg.
