With an interior length of 96 m, a nave height of almost 33 m and a 104 m high tower, St. Mary's Church is the largest of Stralsund's three brick churches. Built in the 14th and 15th centuries, it boasts magnificent vaulted ceilings, 15th century Gothic paintings and an extraordinary interior.

The ascent to the church tower is possible all year round during opening hours for all visitors who are physically fit. It begins with a stone spiral staircase that reaches about halfway up the tower.
