The Observatory operates in three areas:
1. Ongoing educational activities for school groups, preschool groups, and other organized groups, as well as outreach activities for adults.
2. Conducting nighttime observations and sky shows. These are held for private groups of interested participants (advance registration and participant identification are required), in groups of up to 10 people. Observations last 45 minutes, beginning on the hour at 10:00 p.m., 11:00 p.m., and midnight. Details, dates, and registration information for individual observations are posted several days in advance on the Youth Palace website and the Observatory’s Facebook page.
3. Organization of special events related to specific astronomical phenomena or events. The Observatory organizes open events to demonstrate the capabilities of its observational equipment and to highlight specific astronomical events.
