The three-story tenement house at 42 Jana Pawła II Avenue was designed in the late 19th century by Jerzy Sommenstuhl. The front facade of this eclectic building features decorations in the form of climbing plants. In the central part of the facade is a mask with bat wings; there is also an emblem featuring a compass and a square, as well as a crown and an owl surrounded by eagle wings. The whole is crowned with a carved sash bearing the inscription “A.D. 1898.”

The ground floor of the building houses a pharmacy founded by Dr. Luckenbach. Although the building sustained significant damage during Allied air raids, the pharmacy’s interior—including its original window frames—has survived to this day.

The space designated for the pharmacy continues to serve its original purpose to this day. Inside, visitors will find the original desk, table, cabinet, clock, wood paneling, post-German tableware, and furnishings of the main room. The interior of the pharmacy on Jana Pawła II Avenue was added to the provincial list of historic monuments in January 1977.
