Western Lake Districts Route - Szczecin Link

The lake district stretching across Western Pomerania is undoubtedly a great place to relax and unwind, as this area is much less frequented by tourists. This allows us to enjoy nature in solitude, visit quiet towns, and truly relax. As the name suggests, every few miles along the route we find a lake with crystal clear water and numerous beaches. Some even say that they are traveling along the "thousand lakes" route. We can start our cycling trip at the so-called kilometer zero, on the bridge in Siekierki, i.e., the Polish-German border. The old railway bridge has been transformed into a bicycle route with a viewpoint overlooking the Oder River and the unusual Kostrzyn Floodplains. The route, leading mainly along asphalt bicycle paths built on the railway tracks of the Myślibórz and Choszczno Lake Districts, reaches the most popular lake districts – Ińsko, Drawsko, and Szczecinek. The main route passes through five landscape parks, and its Szczecin branch, marked with the number 20A, crosses the Bukowa Forest. Those looking for safe and well-marked sections will be most interested in the southern part of the route from Siekierki to Ińsko. More advanced cyclists can be recommended the entire route.
