"Impatiens" - author's performance by Bibianna Chimiak

The show is about the psychological condition of man and the limits of endurance of human nature, about measuring oneself against extreme situations posed by reality. The thematic areas taken up in the performance are a sense of loneliness, the phenomenon of the so-called "malice of inanimate things," meanness and stupidity in behavior and interpersonal contacts, all sorts of frustrations and states, including various types of disorders, with a psychological basis. The Impatiens of the title are plants whose name in many languages is associated with impatience or intolerance of touch (e.g., the species Impatiens noli-tangere from the Latin noli me tangere - "do not touch me"). The stories in the show are characterized by a similar "impatience," accumulated subcutaneously to the point of endurance - it only takes one impulse to reach the breaking point. The play is built on subtleties, small gestures, a dark yet affectionate atmosphere, with a good dose of black humor and a touch of thrill.
