Jerzy Poszepczynski
Graduate of the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Poznan, born in 1949 in Lodz. His work is inspired by Impressionism, which is clearly reflected in his oil and acrylic paintings, as well as water-based techniques such as watercolor and ink drawing. In his own words:
"I use simplification of form moving toward abstraction. Painting realized with colorful spots forces and at the same time makes you reflect. The paintings I paint are both realistic studies from nature, as well as works that are an attempt to represent what is in our subconscious, what we have co-authored, experienced, and what we would like to currently call into material existence."
Poszepczynski also focuses on sculpture in his work, drawing inspiration from folk sculpture, which he describes as rich in form, simplicity and clarity. He is fascinated not only by the present, but also by the way human existence is depicted in art. In his works, wood, with its natural signs of the passage of time, becomes a carrier of mystery and refined beauty.
