For three days, the tourist information stand in the Western Pomerania Zone was one of the most popular spots. As every year, festival-goers were able to find out about cycle routes in the region, learn about the most interesting attractions and vantage points, and pick up a map of the Berlin–Szczecin–Kołobrzeg cycle route.

Promoting cycle routes fits naturally with the idea of an active and healthy lifestyle, which is why a range of activity-based sessions were organised in a festival atmosphere. Every day, festival-goers could kick off their day with morning yoga. The sessions proved extremely popular, with a total of 952 people taking part. This form of exercise is particularly beneficial for cyclists, as it helps maintain flexibility, balance and good mobility, whilst also aiding the body’s recovery after exercise.

The races on exercise bikes were also a huge hit. A total of 264 people took part in the competition. Day by day, the station attracted more and more participants, who enthusiastically took up the sporting challenge, testing their fitness and competing against family and friends, whilst the cheering of the spectators further contributed to the unique atmosphere. For many participants, it was not just fun, but also a form of fitness test and motivation to stay active. On Saturday, the bike-powered mobile phone charging station was also a popular attraction. Fifty-two festival-goers took part in this activity, enthusiastically making the most of the opportunity to generate energy using their own muscle power, discovering that a bicycle can be not only a means of transport but also a practical and, above all, eco-friendly source of energy.

In the evenings, however, the area came alive with music and dancing. The salsa and bachata classes attracted 135 people. The dancing was very well received by the festival audience and provided an excellent addition to the programme aimed at active people.

One of the highlights of the programme was Thursday’s series of talks entitled ‘The Lake District of Cycling Adventures’, hosted by Przemek Lewandowski. A total of 305 people took part in the event, and the individual talks attracted a great deal of interest. The programme included stories about cycle routes, the region’s landscapes and cycling expeditions, which inspired participants to plan their own trips. Topics included, amongst others, the Berlin–Szczecin–Kołobrzeg route, the landscapes of the Międzyodrze and Drawsko Lake District, the Western Lake District Route, and accounts of cycling expeditions through South America and Colombia. The sessions were not only educational but also promoted the region as an attractive destination for cycle tourism.

Activities co-financed by the European Union as part of the project entitled ‘Berlin–Szczecin–Kołobrzeg Cycle Route’, implemented under the Interreg VIA Mecklenburg-Vorpommern/Brandenburg/Poland Cooperation Programme 2021–2027.
