The West Pomeranian Province continues to intensively develop its network of bicycle routes. An analysis of completed, ongoing, and planned sections shows that the region is implementing investments of varying scale, from short connectors improving the cohesion of the network to long, multi-kilometer sections of new routes. Cyclists already have access to nearly 1,000 km of a coherent network of bicycle routes. In 2025, 104 km of routes were marked, of which 51 km are bicycle paths separated from motor traffic. Nearly 50 km are under construction, and tenders have already been announced for the marking of another 40 km. (A high-resolution map can be found at the bottom of the page).

Completed sections

The completed investments include both long regional routes and important connections within cities. The largest construction site this year was definitely in the east of the province and the Old Railway Route from Świdwin towards Połczyn-Zdrój and from Wałcz to Złocieniec, as well as the Western Lake District Route from Złocieniec eastwards to Rakowo. The most important sections completed include:

  • Złocieniec – Rakowo – marking: 37.00 km, construction: 5.2 km

  • Wałcz – Bobrowo – marking: 44 km, construction: 32.2 km

  • Świdwin – Wardyń – marking: 17.5 km, construction: 12.8 km

  • Białogard – marking: 5.5 km, construction: 1.26 km - As part of this investment, old bridges were renovated, which significantly facilitated access to Białogard from the south, but also made the entire stage more attractive.

  • Total length of completed sections: 104 km of signage, 51.45 km of construction

This category also includes the footbridge at Lake Kopań on the Velo Baltica route, which is approximately 30 meters long. It is a small but important part of the route, allowing cyclists to bypass the existing section, which is often covered with sand.
