On May 12, 2026, a networking meeting for stakeholders of the Velo Baltica bicycle route (EuroVelo 10) was held at the Baltivia Hotel in Mielno. The event brought together 44 representatives of businesses (including the SME sector), local governments, non-profit organizations, Bicycle Friendly Places, and other entities operating along the route. The meeting was led by Sylwia Skuta, a professional expert in the field of cycling tourism. The main objective of the workshop was to integrate these communities and provide them with an opportunity to express their observations and needs regarding the cycling infrastructure. The event successfully fostered the establishment of a cooperation network among previously scattered entities and initiated the creation of a new business model for cycling networks.
The rich program of the meeting included, among others, the presentation of the Velo Baltica route audit report, relationship analysis, mapping cooperation between stakeholders, as well as designing joint regional initiatives, networking, and the exchange of best practices. A particularly important topic of the workshop proved to be the commercialization of cycling tourism products. It is a well-prepared and professional offer that transforms cycling tourism from a mere passion into a genuine impulse for economic development for local entrepreneurs and the entire region.
