The meeting was led by professional experts in the field of cycling tourism (representatives of the Rowerowy Poznań Association – Mr. Tadeusz Mirski and Mr. Jakub Szymczak). The objective of the meeting was to integrate the aforementioned stakeholders, while simultaneously providing them with an opportunity to express their observations and needs regarding the cycling route under discussion. The event supported the establishment of a cooperation network around cycling routes among previously scattered entities and individuals, and initiated the creation of a business model for cycling networks.
The program of the meeting included, among others, a discussion on issues regarding the Old Railway Trail (Stary Kolejowy Szlak) route, relationship analysis, mapping cooperation between stakeholders, as well as designing joint regional initiatives, networking, and the exchange of best practices. A particularly important topic of the workshop was the commercialization of cycling tourism products. It is a well-prepared offer that transforms cycling tourism from a mere passion into a genuine impulse for economic development for local entrepreneurs and the entire region.
The task was implemented as part of the project "West Pomerania – a tourism game changer," co-financed under the European Funds for West Pomerania 2021-2027 program, Measure 1.9: Preparation and implementation of new business models for enterprises (including joint projects of enterprises and business support organizations - BSOs).
